More than 30 million internet users have fallen victim to the false anti-virus program that takes people to money and personal information, security research company PandaLabs has announced. The phenomenon may not be a new one, but grew more and more popular as scammers get more cagey. Now there are over 7,000 variants of this type of adware, said PandaLabs, and the number of infections caused by this increased rapidly.

Users can be infected with the antivirus software is counterfeit scam in the same way as other types of the virus or malware downloaded by the content of the P2P network, open an attachment from an e-mail address is not known, or visit a malicious Web page.
